The busiest day of the year for shelters taking in run away dogs is July 5th every year. Since the 4th of July is on a Tuesday this year there will likely be multiple weekends full of 4th of July activities including fireworks. It’s normal for your dog to feel scared – they have keen senses and experience fireworks more intensely than we do. For your dog, fireworks aren’t the same experience as a thunderstorm, which comes with a lot of warning signs, like changes in temperature or pressure and increasing winds.
